BIOPHYSICS WEEK! We participated in this event organized by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and high school students from Aranjuez on "Women in Science, Women in Biophysics" (12-16 March 2018).

CONFERENCE! Mahel Zeghouf and François Peurois gave talks at "From Molecules and Cells to Human Health: ideas and concepts", 5-9 Mars 2018, IHES Bures-sur-Yvette

NEW PUBLICATION! Our review on "FIC proteins: from bacteria to human and back again" by Veyron S., Peyroche G. and Cherfils J. is now live in free access on the website of Pathogens and Disease

BIOPHYSICS! Jacqueline gave a talk at the Symposium on Biophysics of lipid-modified GTPases at the 62nd meeting of the Biophysical Society in San Francisco (Feb 2018).

Two positions are open immediately:
Assistant ingénieur in molecular biology and recombinant protein production
Post-doc in integrated structural biology of small GTPases
Both positions are funded by the Institut National du Cancer until December 2018 and can be renewed. Contacts us at to learn more.

BIOPHYSICS! The European Biophysical Societies' Association (EBSA) executive committee met in January 2018.

The meeting took place at the Istituto Veneto di Scienze Lettere ed Arti in Venice. A painting by Tintoretto (1518-1594) in the meeting room!

SPECIAL EVENT! Gérald Peyroche was a member of a French delegation from the Université Paris-Saclay, Pasteur Institute and Pasteur Institute of Cambodia  invited by the University of Health Sciences in Cambodia (Novembre 2017).

CONFERENCE! We were at the 5th meeting of the LABEX LERMIT (15 December 2017)

MID-THESIS EXAM! François Peurois passed his mid-thesis exam (PhD qualifying exam) on 20 October 2017. Congratulations!

COMMENTARY ON OUR ARTICLE! A commentary by John Hancock on our article, entitled "Lipid sorting and the activity of Arf signaling complexes", has been published in PNAS!

ART OF SCIENCE! A stamp to celebrate our article in PNAS!
It is a long-standing tradition in John Kuriyan's lab that the first authors design a stamp about their work and their country. This one is Agata's with the crowned Polish eagle. 

CONFERENCE!  Jorge Navaza was at the Conference on methods and applications in the frontier between MX and Cryo-EM in Barcelona 17-21 September 2017.

The Nobel prize in Chemistry 2017 was awarded on October 4th to Jacques Dubochet, Joachim Franck and Richard Henderson for developing cryo-electron microscopy for the high resolution structure determination of biomolecules in solution. A fantastic day for structural biology! Blow up the picture to see Jorge and a future Nobel prize laureate!

SEMINAR! 7 June 2017. Jacqueline gave a talk on inhibitors of small GTPases at PIRAMID Scientific day in Nantes.

THEY'RE VISITING OUR LAB! We were delighted to host Dr Jeff Martell, from the Miller Institute in Berkeley, and Monica Neugebauer (University of California, Berkeley). Jeff gave a beautiful talk on his work on engineered heme peroxidases as genetically encoded probes with diverse applications in cell biology (19th May 2017)

NEW PUBLICATION! Our article by Blackburn et al. on"How to name atoms in polyphosphates, their derivatives and mimics, and transition state analogues for enzyme-catalysed phosphoryl transfer reaction (IUPAC Recommendations 2016)

WELCOME! February 2017. Jahnavi and Rudolf joined our lab for a Master internship.

Jahnavi Cheekireddy obtained a M.Sc in Pharmaceutical Sciences at  the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT University), Vellore, India. She is a laureate of the International Program of the Ecole Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay. Rudolf Hergesheimer obtained a M.Sc. in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). He has been awarded an Advanced Student grant by the Fulbright Franco-American Program.
